The Department of Defense has an idea how to get rid of worn-out missiles, remaining large after every armed conflict. Its concept is to create a biodegradable ammunition that would change into a plant.
Every armed conflict leaves not only the destruction of the infrastructure of the attacked cities, but also the waste of the garbage. The latter mainly come from the remaining battlefields of the missiles, which during the fighting are fired in hundreds of thousands of pieces. All this metal left in the earth after some time corrodes, posing a threat to the natural environment and poisoning the earth with soil and groundwater.
The US Department of Defense has an idea to create a biodegradable ammunition that could be converted into plants after use. Shells would be equipped with specially designed seeds, which after some time grow the plants. They would serve to remove from the soil the impurities left behind by corroding missiles.
